Building An Earth-Sheltered House, Part 8: Removing Exterior And Dome Forms

This process in the building of our earth-sheltered house happened late Friday morning, a couple of hours after lunch on Friday, and Saturday in about an hour before nine a.m. Saturday morning was exciting for all of us, as we were finally able to walk inside our new concrete shell with all the metal forms gone.

I can’t tell you what a relief it is for all the noise to be over with, and for us to have our relative privacy back. It’s a relief, truly, to finally have the construction done and over with. We have a lot more work ahead of us, but since I redid the inside of the Tuff Shed and really enjoy  living in it, I’m not in a hurry.

But I must confess – I am looking forward to not having to be in here next year when the temperatures soar above 95 degrees!

The second video is a narrated tour around the outside and inside of the concrete shell.

Enjoy the videos.
