Building An Earth-Sheltered House, Part Two

This phase of building an earth-sheltered house gets a lot more interesting, as two cement mixers and a cement pumper truck show up at our place!

The cement is pumped through the extremely long pump into the lumber forms fitted with rebar. They filled all the forms halfway, then went around again to fill the forms the rest of the way to the top.

Tyrone used some kind of vacuum-looking tool to suck out air bubbles while Ralph and Joe got busy leveling and smoothing the surface before the cement could dry. Conrad is the one guiding the pump hose to fill in the forms.

If you have any boys in your house, they will probably enjoy watching the big trucks in motion!
